Episode 0: How best to use this course?
If you take this course seriously, it could be the edge you need to forever change your career. Most players train their body, few train their mind. That's why so many never reach their full potential .In the next few minutes, I'll show you exactly how to get the most out of this course and significantly improvement your game.
Just to go over the course structure, you'll be watching one video a week, each focused on different aspects of sports psychology. After each video, there's going to be some action steps you can take, and it's going to significantly improve your game on and off the pitch. The goal is not to rush through the content, take your time with each video, reflect on what resonates with you and how it applies to your situation. This lets you apply what you learn and track your progress.
So I want you to think of this course as your own mental gym, just like physical training, and mental training it takes practice, it takes effort, it takes consistency. Don't just watch the videos, do the lessons, track your progress, write notes, and refer back to them as you improve.
What made sense, what interests you. What didn't resonate, or felt off. This helps you refine what works for you and helps me understand how to best support your growth.
Don't be afraid to question what you hear. If you don't agree with something, that's okay. Just make sure to reflect on why. Use that as an opportunity for deeper understanding.
If you're working with me individually, bring your notes and insights to the sessions, we use them to form a personal plan to help you grow and get the most out of this mental training . This will be really, really valuable not only for your own reflection but also for our work together.
Some examples, kind of reflecting on the notes you can do things like, “how did I feel before and after applying this exercise?” “Did I see a difference in my performance?” “What was challenging about this mental exercise?”.
Now moving on to your approach to the course, start with the first video when you're ready. Don't rush it, commit and apply the lessons, and let's get started on proving your mental game.
Remember this is about progress, not perfection, just like your physical training and mental training it takes time, so be patient with yourself. Watching this video means you've just begun your journey to be mentally stronger than the competition.
Just to recap, one video a week, this is done to Just keep things manageable.
Active participation. This isn't about just watching these videos and half paying attention and not doing any of the steps at the end. This is very much you're going to get out what you put into it. Take notes, reflect and apply each video.
Personalized focus; bring insight into the coaching sessions, where the lessons can be tailored to your personal challenges, your growth areas, and just your background really. Because everyone's going to be playing a different position, from a different place, playing a different club, different challenges, different skills sets. It's really important to tailor these things to the individual.
